The mission of
the Events Committee is to organize and sponsor informational and social gatherings
(annually, at least; more often in an election year) to promote the ideals
of and raise funds for the Claverack Democratic Party.
The first annual general Democratic Committee meeting, both a social and informational gathering, was held in April 2004 at the AB Shaw Firehouse in the hamlet. Tea and sweets were served, this website was unveiled, a newsletter was distributed, and the various projects of the Claverack Democrats were discussed.
The second annual meeting was held Sunday, April 10, 2005 also at the AB Shaw Firehouse, with similar refreshments and agenda.
During the campaign of 2005, our premier event was a special benefit at the Chemiakin estate. It was a memorable, and extraordinarily successful, afternoon. Look at a pdf of the invitation (700KB) here.
