2005:
Final results; position papers on agriculture, jobs, taxes and assessments,
young people, older people, Philmont, and development; and how and why our
government should expose its workings to the light of day, and welcome those
who want to participate.
- Town
Government: An overview of the governing bodies of Claverack and
Philmont: Who holds elected and appointed positions, how you can contact
them, when and where meetings are held, and meeting minutes, some otherwise
available only via the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL).
- Democratic
Party: Your Election District representatives and how to contact
them. The names, chairs, members, and initiatives of subcommittees.
- Calendar:
Upcoming events, meetings, etc., along with an ever-expanding archive of
public notices related to Claverack and Philmont. We miss some, but its
a pretty long list, and worth reviewingparticularly if there's an
issue that concerns you.
- News:
Newspaper articles, editorials, letters to the editor, and even political
ads that relate to Claverack and Philmont. Like the meetings and notices,
we don't get them all, but we do get most, especially after Spring 2005.
It's no substitute for a newspaper, but it is a ready resource when you
want to investigate an issue or look up an article you remember.
