2005 Results

The 2005 town election has come and gone. While the results were disappointing, we know that we've done critically important work in bringing to light the issues that face the Town of Claverack—as well as the ways those issues can and should be addressed.

What's more, we've identified not only four outstanding, and now seasoned, candidates, but a small army of dedicated Democrats (as well as an increasing number of non-Democrats who feel the same way we do). These are people who understand the work that has to be done and are willing to commit their time and energy to electing a town government that is truly of the people, and by the people, and for the people.

On the other pages in this Election 2005 section, you'll find a wealth of information that anticipates future elections—which includes the issues, our 2005 platform (as relevant post-election as it was during the campaign), volunteering, donating, and voting/registering. Please take a little time to peruse these pages, and while you're at it, please look through the entire claverack.org website. We think you'll come to the same conclusion that the Claverack Democrats have—that the Town of Claverack can do a lot better than it's doing now.

The election results that follow by no means represent the end of the story. There's another chapter, and we're just starting to write it.
