How to cast your vote in the Town of Claverack and Village of Philmont:

The most important thing is to vote. And to do it here in Claverack.

If you aren't registered to vote, but you live here, full time or part time, please register. Votes in small town elections are won and lost on very, very few votes.

If you just turned 18, but are away at school, or if you're over 18 but haven't yet voted, please exercise your right to vote for the first time by registering in your hometown.

If you are a part-time resident who votes somewhere else, please consider changing your registration. Like we've already said, votes count so much more here.

If you will be away at college or at your other residence on Election Day of November 2006, please plan to apply for an absentee ballot.

Registration forms are available at the Columbia County Board of Elections (BOE) at 401 State Street in Hudson (telephone 828-3115). Or online at www.elections.state.ny.us, where the forms are available to download, print, and mail to the BOE.

The Board of Elections is open Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

Election Day is the second Tuesday in November. Polls open at 6am and close at 9pm.
